“But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door
and pray to your Father who is in secret…”

for they think that they will be heard for their many words.”
Matthew 6:7

Pray then like this: Our Father…”

PRAYER, TEMPTATION, & THE TRANSCENDENTALS
"THE TREE WAS TO BE DESIRED TO MAKE ONE WISE" ~GENESIS 3:6"Good for Food..."
A good over GOODNESS
When tempted in the Garden of Eden, Adam and Eve reasoned the forbidden fruit was indeed “Good for Food…” and they chose a lesser good, a fleeting worldly pleasure over a recourse to fasting… and the fullness of GOODNESS in God.
"...A Delight to the Eyes..."
A delight over BEAUTY
In the midst of temptation, they also reasoned the forbidden fruit was “A Delight to the Eyes…” and chose a lesser beauty, a secular pleasure over a recourse to sacrificial self-giving… to obtain the fullness of BEAUTY in God.
"...Desirable to Make One Wise..."
A wisdom over TRUTH
Having been beguiled by the serpent, they further reasoned the fruit was “Desirable to Make One Wise…” and they chose a lesser wisdom, a willful pride over a recourse to prayer… and the fullness of TRUTH in the Wisdom of God.
